Rev A. A. Green

 
Aaron Asher Green was born on 18th September 1860, in Goodman's Fields in the East End of London.

1875 - Edited "The Jews' College Journal".

1876 - Joined Jews' College to train for the ministry.

1883 - Appointed as minister in Sheffield.

1888 - Appointed as minister in Sunderland.

1892 - Appointed as the first minister of The Hampstead Synagogue.

Rev. Green retired in 1930 at the age of seventy and died in 1933.

During his career he also held the office of Chairman of the Soldiers' and Sailors' Dependants' Committee set up after the First World War in the East End, and was Chief Officiating Clergyman to Jewish soldiers in the UK.

Rev. Green wrote a number of historic and religious papers which were printed in The Jewish Chronicle, and edited his own version of the Haggadah.
