14th Isaiah Berlin Lecture: Lord Daniel Finkelstein OBE

Lord Daniel Finkelstein OBE (Associate Editor of The Times) will deliver this year’s Isaiah Berlin Annual Lecture.

Lord Finkelstein, OBE is well known as a journalist, political commentator and football fan. Starting out in the Social Democratic Party (as Chair of the Young Social Democrats), Lord Finkelstein subsequently made his way to the Conservative Party where he was Director of the Conservative Research Department and adviser to John Major, and then political adviser to William Hague. Lord Finkelstein is also a former Director of the Social Market Foundation, and former Chairman of Policy Exchange.

Following the 2001 election, Lord Finkelstein joined The Times as part of the leader writing team, and was Comment Editor and subsequently Executive Editor. He is now an associate editor and continues to write a weekly column. As well as politics, he is a passionate football fan and since 2002 has written a weekly column on football statistics. And, of course, Lord Finkelstein is also a regular columnist in the Jewish Chronicle.
