Pre-Yom Hazikaron and Yom Ha’atzmaut Talk
by Israeli Army Veteran Hanoch Budin
Beit Halochem is a wonderful organisation which runs four state-of-the art centres in Israel for wounded Israeli army veterans.
Beit Halochem UK are bringing over Hanoch Budin in April in advance of Yom Hazikaron and Yom Haatzmaut. Hanoch was injured during the Lebanon War in 1982. He is an incredible individual who speaks eloquently about his experiences, ranging from his injury, rehabilitation, becoming an elite athlete with eight Paralympic medals (two Golds), his family, career, management and leadership, to his participation in “Survivors”, a reality television show in Israel.
Most appropriately, Hanoch will be speaking to us at Hampstead on the Shabbat morning immediately preceding Yom Hazikaron and Yom Haatzmaut. Hanoch will give a short talk after the service which is not a fundraising appeal, but a chance for our community to hear his story and to learn about the work of Beit Halochem.
