Volunteer

There are lots of ways you can get involved at Hampstead Synagogue from joining the security team to helping with our social action food bank deliveries to offering an idea for a new event or series of activities.

Here are a few of the teams that would be grateful for your support:

Security
If you would like to get involved and make a contribution to the shul community right away, you can take the incredibly valuable step of joining one of our Security Teams.
For the safety of our congregation, at every Shabbat and Festival service we employ a professional security guard. He requires shul members to help him by manning the doors, identifying members or visitors, walking the surrounding streets, periodically checking round the building, and helping check bags and tickets on festivals. Each volunteer is allocated to a Security Team, and each week a different team is responsible for assisting the guard.
And it’s more than just security… A major part of the role is being there in a welcoming capacity, to be a friendly face when visitors come to shul. It’s an excellent way to get to know people and to get yourself known.
If you can help, please contact the shul office and ask to speak to the Security Officer.

Kiddush Rota

We have a weekly rota for kiddush organised by Nina Geller and she would be delighted if you want to help out.

Volunteering in the Office

It is especially helpful if you can spare some time either on  a regular or adhoc basis to help our Community Manager in the synagogue office either helping to answer phones or preparing mailings.
