Robert Max plays Bach’s Six Suites for solo cello
Join Robert Max for a unique voyage through Johann Sebastian Bach’s six cello suites, some of the most sublime music written for that instrument. Robert will be playing the first five suites on a Stradivarius cello dating from 1726 known as the Comte de Saveuse and the sixth suite on a five-stringed cello as requested by the composer.
Robert says about this music: ‘There is both unity and diversity in this amazing music and I am keen to explore this with maximum focus and minimum distraction.’
There will be no interval, and light refreshments will be served after the concert, when you will have a chance to talk to Robert about his playing.
